Giving Back

Four Directions Wellness not only supports your individual journey and intuitive connection between mind, body, emotions, and spirit but also supports the community. Since beginning its operations in Del Ray, Virginia in April 2016, a key value is providing community support. Four Directions Wellness supports our local residents by offering its Community Reiki Initiative and complimentary self care Reiki, a way to incorporate personal wellness for you. Four Directions Wellness founder, Mara Benner, also volunteers with several nonprofit organizations that focus on giving back to the local area. See more information below.

Community Reiki Initiative

Four Directions Wellness offers an opportunity to experience holistic approaches in the community.  Through our amazing Reiki practitioners, we offer community Reiki sessions.

Four Directions Wellness is now offering our complimentary community give-back of self-care Reiki trainings. Through the wonderful practice of Reiki, a relaxation technique supporting inner peace and balance, you can learn to support your subtle energy system and so much more!  Begin today. Community Support

Previous Community Support of the Four Direction’s Wellness Founder:


  • Del Ray Business Association: Volunteers in the community with various events and activities, and served on the Board of Directors.
  • Alexandria Chamber of Commerce: Serves as a member of the Board of Directors and supports businesses in Alexandria.
  • Alexandria Commission on Employment: Serves as a Commissioner in support of the Workforce Development Center.
  • AIM Health Institute: Volunteered through administrative efforts to support organization providing integrative care to underserved and terminally ill in Washington DC area.
  • George Washington University Hospital/Center for Integrative Medicine: Offered Reiki trainings to medical students at the hospital while overseeing an alternative healing department.
  • Hospice of Northern Virginia: Offered grief and bereavement support to family and friends of deceased loved ones.
  • Patrick Henry Elementary School: Tutored elementary children on reading and math.
  • Samuel Tucker Elementary School: Tutored elementary children on reading and math.
